Indian Government Are Looking To Block Porn.
On Saturday, many users are trying to access the pornographic websites but the page shown as blank. #PornBan became top hash tag trends on Social networking website Twitter.
Major ISPs including Vodafone, MTNL, BSNL, ACT, and Hathway users got access denied to porn websites in India.
By reporting of IBN Live,
One Reddit user shared a screenshot of a website that displayed an error message reading, "The requested URL has been blocked as per the directions received from the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India."
Last month, the Supreme Court had issued declined to block pornography websites in India and Chief Justice of India (CJI) HL Dattu too observed that banning the watching of pornography at home would be a violation of Article 21, the Right to Personal Liberty.
We were trying to access these websites and getting through a few telecom companies including Airtel, MTNL, Vodafone and got the same message. Despite the fact that the message is not yet thinking about all sites and some could in any case be gotten to.
According to report of Hindustan Times,
Pornhub, one of the world’s largest porn sites, Indians are among the most "prolific consumers" of internet pornography, accounting for 40% of its 14.2 billion visits. Mizoram consumes most porn and Delhi finishes a close second, the data revealed, adding that Canadian-Indian actress Sunny Leone is the most searched-for porn star in the country.
Certain websites have been reviewed and found to be spreading anti-social activities as hyperlinks from these websites, some of them were pornographic, so we have sent letters to internet service providers to block them. The action has been taken in reference to section 79 of IT Act," the sources said.
