After Myntra, Flipkart Is Shutting Down Its Website On This September.

Flipkart has 45 million registered users and sees over 10 million daily visits on its website currently. As we reported earlier, Myntra was Shutting down 15th May 2015. Myntra bought by FlipKart last year for $300 Million.

Flipkart-owned fashion store said that 95 percent of Internet traffic comes through mobile and 70 percent sales are generated through smartphones. Flipkart.com is India’s leading e-commerce marketplace offering over 20 million products cross 70+ categories including Books, Media, Consumer Electronics and Lifestyle. Flipkart also known as fast delivery services like cash on delivery according to report.

Flipkart Spokeperson told to TOI,
“India is gradually transitioning from a mobile first to a mobile only country . At Flipkart, we have been following a mobile first approach and 70%-75% of our total traffic is already coming from our mobile app. We are constantly experimenting with various aspects of our service to create the best shopping experience for our users on our app. Meanwhile, we continue to offer both desktop as well as mobile option for our customers.“

Announced Paternity Policy

"Announcing new maternity benefits policy at Flipkart! And a policy for dads-to-be coming up soon," the company said on Tuesday, in a post on social networking site Linkedin. A Flipkart spokesperson told ET, "The paternity policy at Flipkart aims at providing flexibility to employees to help them take care of personal exigencies as well as be productive at work. Flipkart wants to support and encourage male employees to shoulder responsibilities at home."

But why eCommerce companies are moving to mobile app only?

Are they worried about web maintenance and its security ?

we don't think so. Flipkart is big company in INDIA. Yes we agreed that mostly people are purchasing through Mobile App but as looking the part of security, company should work on their App security now.

Flipkart's last fundraising round in May 2015 had pegged its valuation at $15 billion.
