FBI arrests the hacker who was its own informant




In a bizarre incident, the FBI has arrested 70 hackers in an operation to bust a hacking forum. Out of the 12 Americans against whom the charges were filed, one of them is actually an informant who worked with the FBI to help them gain access to the hackers’ forum.

The operation is termed to be the largest till date and involved bringing down a forum named Darkode. It is an online forum protected by passwords and was used as a medium by hackers to sell sensitive information such as the passwords, tools and methods to hack computers as well as was used to share and sell malware applications.

Darkode, according to the authorities is the largest malware sharing forum in the world and involved trading of botnets. Botnets are the computers that are infected with the malware and the access to these computers are sold to hackers who can then become botnet operators by acquiring the access to these computers. The operation to bring down Darkode was christened ‘Operation Shrouded Horizon’ and was initiated a year and half ago. Rory Stephan Guidry, a 28 year old man from Louisiana has worked with the FBI in the past and hence he was approached by the FBI to help them bust Darkode.

The process to become a member of the forum required hackers to be invited by an existing forum member after which the invited members had to display their hacking skills. To prove his efficiency and to gain the trust of other forum members, Guidry stole the botnet of Lizard Squad that brought down PlayStation and Xbox live networks on the Christmas Day last year. Guidry supplied this code to the forum to gain their trust and get onto the inside from where he helped the FBI.


Despite this, Guidry himself was charged and arrested by the FBI claiming that that he shared malware and allowed the other forum members to gain an access to the botnet. Despite working for the interests of the FBI, Guidry is behind the bars and this will deter other hackers in the future to trust the federal agencies such as the FBI.

Fixing Windows 10 glitches


The latest version of the Windows operating system, Windows 10 is now available to the users in over 190 countries. This version promises to be way better than any of the previous versions and especially Windows 8 which was a disaster for Microsoft. Windows 10, as claimed by Microsoft will be the last version of the Windows and the users in future will receive updates for their operating system. Earlier Microsoft would release a new version of the Windows every 3 to 4 years; but Windows 10, as claimed by the company will be the last one.


Microsoft is providing free updates to Windows 10 for Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 users. These users can upgrade their OS anytime during the next one year. So far those who have used Windows 10 are happy with it and have generally reported a good performance. Microsoft released the beta version last year and since then beta testers reported bugs that were fixed by Microsoft.

Despite this, there a few glitches in Windows 10. For one, it in some cases rejects third party drivers and automatically updates drivers that are already installed. This is creating problems to some extent. The possible solution to this is to allow Windows 10 to update or replace the drivers with other compatible drivers. Another option is to wait for a couple of months before you upgrade to Windows 10 so that Microsoft can rectify this error.

Another chink in the armour for Windows 10 is the sharing of the encrypted Wi Fi passwords over social media sites such as Facebook, Skype and Outlook. To avoid this, users can go to Wi Fi settings and then to Network settings and check off all the boxes under this setting. This will disallow any access to password sharing.

Barack Obama’s official website defaced by a Yemeni hacker(#obama)

The webpage my.barackobama.com that is a part of United
States’ President Barack Obama has been hacked by a Yemini hacker that uses the
name Lov3rDns. The webpage is a part of President Barack Obama’s official social
media website barackobama.com.


The hacker hacked into the webpage and defaced it by posting
messages that were derogatory in nature and targeted President Obama. The hacker
wrote on the page asking Barack Obama to leave Yemen alone. The same hacker had
earlier targeted Saudi Arabia and leaked confidential information of Saudi
Arabia, like the communication between the country’s embassies online.

Lov3rDns is also believed to have been involved in the
hacking activities that hacked websites of MIT, AVG Security, Coca Cola, Joomla
blog, Mcafee website, MSN’s Portugal domain, Firefox and Avast Security. This
shows that this hacker is no ordinary hacker and has been involved in some
serious stuff that has disrupted the services of several major websites.

The website of President Obama was also hacked earlier in
2014 by the Syrian Electronic Army, a hacking group supported by Pro-Assad
hackers. The website has been accessed and used by more than 35,000 groups who
have created around 20,000 events at the time of the Presidential campaign of
Barack Obama. Since his victory, the website is his official social media
website.

Hacking attacks like these reveal the vulnerabilities of the
websites of even the most powerful people in the world. It is a growing concern
that such hacks are becoming common and are being used as a means of protest
against the governments of various nations world over.


Governments and large organisations have taken a notice of
such instances and have been building measures to counter such attacks.
However, these measures are still not efficient enough to prevent such
activities

Intimate images of Charlotte McKinney leaked online

Intimate images and selfies taken by supermodel Charlotte McKinney have been leaked online by hackers. These images are being shared over social media networks and Imgur photo sharing websites after they were leaked by hackers. The images include some very intimate images of the supermodel and even her explicit and naked images.


Charlotte McKinney became famous instantly after she was profiled in Esquire and selected Instagram to be her portfolio managers. She has a semblance with Kate Upton and her advertisement for All Natural Burger made her instantly successful. Charlotte will be a part of the 20th Season of Dancing with the Stars which is a very popular reality show in the United States of America.

Despite the claims that the images were leaked by hackers, there has been no verification of this fact. According to the critics, the leak has to do with her upcoming movie release Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. However, the alleged leaks are doing the rounds over the internet and are being shared over several websites.

Leaking intimate and personal images of celebrities has been a nemesis for some time now. Late last year, images of several celebrities include Jennifer Garner were leaked online by hackers who hacked into their iCloud accounts. There was a great debate over the security of Cloud networks such as iCloud.

Due to these incidents, cyber security experts have been pointing out the vulnerabilities of such sharing platforms and state that these are unsafe to upload personal and confidential information. With cloud computing being the next big thing, it is important to ensure that not just the data is kept safe on the internet, it is also protected from unauthorised access like those by hackers.

Another pro-isis hacker group strikes on the internet

 
Team System DZ, a group claiming to be pro-ISIS has hacked into a website of Indiana Artisan and several other websites and has posted pro-ISIS and anti-Israeli messages. However, local authorities have said that the same group may or may not be involved with March 9 attacks which took place on some website.


The change in the website by the hackers was noticed by a visitor around noon on 21st March. The officials are trying to identify if the hack is related to the March 9 hackings of the website of Indianapolis Downtown Artists and Dealers Association. Indiana Artisan Director Eric Freeman reported the incident to the officials of Homeland Security in Washington D.C. Gary Coons, Chief of Indianapolis Department of Homeland Security has said that the incident was reported to him on Saturday afternoon and that he is coordinating with the FBI and Indiana Artisan to investigate the matter. He believes that the website might have been targeted for its vulnerability and not for any other specific reason. 
 
The incident comes at a time when the annual event Indiana Artisan Marketplace is going to be held on 28th and 29th March. The event is being hosted by Indiana Artisan. The timing of the hacking incident can have a negative impact over the event as it is just a week away. The designer of the website is trying to get the website up and running by Monday.
 
The recent attacks on various websites throughout the globe by pro-ISIS groups have become a matter of concern for security authorities and the website owners as well. Such groups target the vulnerability of the hosting services such as Wordpress and replace the original content with their own messages. The Indiana Artisan incident is the latest one in these types of incidents.

Apple faced a huge lost of £17.6 millions due to recent outage

MASSIVE CYBERWAR GONNA BE HIT ON PETROLEUM COMPANIES ON 20TH JUNE(#OPpetrol)

recently anonghost declared operation petrol on 20th June 2014, on talking to them we find cause and details about this operation petrol
"#OP Petrol is because we disagrees with the U.S. Dollar being used as the currency to buy and sell oil....The OP will commence on the June 20, 2014 Inshallah & attackers may attack across different time zones.Upto now we have breached several petroleum companies. Hopefully they will be out for public view on or after the 20th of June 2014"they said

but a huge attack was seen on the internet from last week,over 700 or more than websites were hacked by anonghost team,some which are working properly,they left same deface page and same message on the hacked websites,they didn't attack websites only,but they exposed many people and hacked many cc's which later was leaked on the internet.as per these attacks we think that anonghost will hit massive cyber war on their targets...

600,000 customers personal details stolen(dominos pizza hacked)



yes,the hacker group namely REX MUNDI claimed that they have enter into database of domino's pizaa (Belgium and France),they have download more than 590,000 personal details of customers such as full name of customer,address,phone number,emails ids and passwords from dominos France,and from Belgium dominos they have download 58,000 customer details,
this hacker group demands €30,000 to pay them for not disclosing stolen data on the internet,"Rex Mundi "has given a deadline of 8pm CEST tonight (7pm BST) for Dominos to pay them,"if they didn't received payment demanded they will post all stolen data on the internet "REX MUNDI SAID
we think they will post stolen data on the internet !!!
