Facebook's Still Developing A 'Dislike Button', We Already Got The Emoticon For You! How? Here's the solution!

Hey guys, as you already know Facebook is planning to develop a 'dislike' button. A researcher named Roy Jansen found out that Facebook already supports the usage of the 'dislike' icon. (for example in a status-post and/or comment)

He noticed the CSS of Facebook requires a .PNG file named: aeO1ik7i7-T.png

How to use this 'dislike' icon on your website/blog?

Example:
  • HEX Code:
  • Escape Code:

Or you can simply 'copy/paste' this icon ""

Indian Government Are Looking To Block Porn

Indian Government Are Looking To Block Porn.

On Saturday, many users are trying to access the pornographic websites but the page shown as blank. #PornBan became top hash tag trends on Social networking website Twitter.

Major ISPs including Vodafone, MTNL, BSNL, ACT, and Hathway users got access denied to porn websites in India.

By reporting of  IBN Live,
One Reddit user shared a screenshot of a website that displayed an error message reading, "The requested URL has been blocked as per the directions received from the Department of Telecommunications, Government of India."

Last month, the Supreme Court had issued declined to block pornography websites in India and Chief Justice of India (CJI) HL Dattu too observed that banning the watching of pornography at home would be a violation of Article 21, the Right to Personal Liberty.

We were trying to access these websites and getting through a few telecom companies including Airtel, MTNL, Vodafone and got the same message. Despite the fact that the message is not yet thinking about all sites and some could in any case be gotten to.

According to report of Hindustan Times,

Pornhub, one of the world’s largest porn sites, Indians are among the most "prolific consumers" of internet pornography, accounting for 40% of its 14.2 billion visits. Mizoram consumes most porn and Delhi finishes a close second, the data revealed, adding that Canadian-Indian actress Sunny Leone is the most searched-for porn star in the country.

Certain websites have been reviewed and found to be spreading anti-social activities as hyperlinks from these websites, some of them were pornographic, so we have sent letters to internet service providers to block them. The action has been taken in reference to section 79 of IT Act," the sources said.

There has no Govt. official announcement to block it yet.

Facebook Is Working On More Security Features Tied Up With Kaspersky To Secure Your Account

Facebook Is Working On More Security features Tied Up With Kaspersky To Secure Your Account.

Many of the Facebook users are targeted by Phisher attacks and intellectual activities, now Kaspersky Lab is ready to protect your Facebook account.

Facebook security engineer Trevor Pottinger said, “Thanks to the collaboration with these companies, in the past three months we have helped clean up more than two million people’s computers that we detected were infected with malware when they connected to Facebook,”

“In these cases, we present a cleanup tool that runs in the background while you continue using Facebook, and you get a notification when the scan is done to show you what it found.”

Pottinger said the program uses “a combination of signals to help find infections and get the malware off of your computer for good, even if the malware isn’t actively spreading spam or harmful links.”

Kaspersky Lab’s Kate Kochetkova said in blog post that Facebook users are often targeted in online fraud schemes such as “phishing,” which are faked emails designed to get recipients to download malware.

“Facebook is a major aim for phishers: one in five phishing scams targets Facebook notifications. So be vigilant when you receive emails appearing to be from Facebook: as they can be fake. There are lots of Trojans targeting Facebook users as well,” she said.

"If the Facebook team has detected suspicious behavior from your account and it looks as though it might be infected, the social network will suggest you scan your device for security issues. Upon logging in, you will see a warning page like this, offering the security scan."

Facebook Opening New Artificial Intelligence Research Center in Paris

Facebook Opening New Artificial Intelligence Research Center in Paris.

Facebook comes with a specific end goal to take a shot at driven modern ventures.

The new group will work intently with existing Facebook AI Research (FAIR) groups in Menlo Park and New York on images acknowledgment, live translating tools, speech recognition and more.

Facebook CEO and Founder Mark Zuckerberg post in his page,

"I’m excited for the opening of Facebook’s first international research center for artificial intelligence in Paris.

One of our long term initiatives is to build a new generation of internet services that are more intuitive and can more easily connect you with the things you care about by understanding the meaning of voice, text, images, videos and other information.

Our new Paris team will help lead our research in machine learning. We'll continue sharing all our insights openly with the AI community through publications, open source and collaboration with other researchers. We’ll also be investing in top scientific institutions and have a collaborative agreement in place with INRIA. This opens up new joint study opportunities for talented research professionals, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers.

France already has one of the strongest AI research communities in the world, so we think this is the ideal home for our new team. I’m excited for us to be taking another step toward the future of computing and connecting the world."

Facebook said in blog,

"Every day, the world generates more and more information — text, pictures, videos and more. To be useful, Facebook’s apps and services need to help you sort through all this information so you can better understand the world around you and more effectively communicate with the people who are important to you. For a little more than a year we’ve been building a program — Facebook AI Research (FAIR) — with this goal in mind.

Today we announced that we’re expanding those efforts with a new AI research team in Paris. Like the existing FAIR teams in Menlo Park and New York, the Paris team will work on ambitious long-term research projects in image recognition, natural language processing, speech recognition, and the kinds of physical and logical infrastructure required to run these AI systems. It’s our hope that this research will ultimately help us make services like News Feed, photos and search even better and enable an entirely new set of ways to connect and share.

We chose Paris for this expansion because France is home to some of the best researchers in the world. We think the FAIR Paris team will bring valuable expertise and new perspectives to our work, and we plan to work openly with and invest in the AI research community in France, the EU, and beyond as we strive to make meaningful progress in these fields. We have a collaborative agreement in place with INRIA, a leading research institute in Paris which opens up new joint study opportunities for talented research professionals, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers. We believe this open model ultimately spurs more innovation, encourages collaboration and mutual review, and helps us all move faster.

Our work in AI research is still relatively early. But we’ve built a terrific team and have already made some encouraging progress, and we’re excited to see where this work takes us and what it will allow us to build for the people we serve."

1. TwitPic uses usernames and passwords from Twitter.
2. Comments to photographs are sent as reply tweets.
3. TwitPic URLs are already short, making it unnecessary to use URL shortening.

Twitpic is shutting down
Posted on September 4, 2014 by Noah
Twitpic will be shutting down September 25th. You will be able to export all your photos and videos. We’ll let everyone know when this feature is live in the next few days.

This is an unexpected and hard announcement for us to make and we want to lay out what led us to this decision.

A few weeks ago Twitter contacted our legal demanding that we abandon our trademark application or risk losing access to their API. This came as a shock to us since Twitpic has been around since early 2008, and our trademark application has been in the USPTO since 2009.

Here is some backstory on the history of our trademark:

We originally filed for our trademark in 2009 and our first use in commerce dates back to February 2008 when we launched. We encountered several hurdles and difficulties in getting our trademark approved even though our first use in commerce predated other applications, but we worked through each challenge and in fact had just recently finished the last one. During the “published for opposition” phase of the trademark is when Twitter reached out to our counsel and implied we could be denied access to their API if we did not give up our mark.

Unfortunately we do not have the resources to fend off a large company like Twitter to maintain our mark which we believe whole heartedly is rightfully ours. Therefore, we have decided to shut down Twitpic.

On a personal note I (@noaheverett) want to thank you for letting us be a part of your life and helping you share your experiences over the past 6 years, it’s truly been an honor. I have learned so much through running Twitpic over the years. Through the many mistakes I’ve made and lessons learned, to the bad days and the great days. Thank you again everyone…I will miss and cherish the days of Twitpic we had together.

We are using the talent of India to grow our business here but also to grow our business around the world.” She told in interview to CNBC-Tv18

Every company I meet with here talks about the possibilities of growth because you can't be here and not feel possibilities for growth. Had a very fruitful meeting with Sheryl Sandberg. She pointed out that India is a very important country for Facebook, considering the high number of active Facebook users in India.
Being an avid user of social media myself, I talked about ways through which a platform such as Facebook can be used for governance and better interaction between the people and governments. I also talked about how Facebook can be used to bring more tourists to India.

Sheryl also shared her words on FB Page,
"It was a privilege for me and my Facebook colleagues Marne Levine and Ankhi Das to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi today. The opportunity to be in India this past week has been special for me after beginning my career here on the World Bank’s India Health team 22 years ago.
Meeting Prime Minister Modi gave me the opportunity to express my personal appreciation to him for making the education of girls and women a priority as equal opportunity is essential for strengthening all economies and creating a just world. Exciting for our all-female delegation to #leanin with Prime Minister Modi.
India is important to the global economy, as well as to Facebook, and we look forward to working together on internet.org to bring the next billion people online. Access = opportunity – creating more economic, social and political opportunities for the people of India."
