Whonix - Privacy And Anonymity Operating System

Whonix - Privacy And Anonymity Operating System

Whonix is an operating system focused on anonymity, privacy and security. It’s based on the Tor anonymity network, Debian GNU/Linux and security by isolation. DNS leaks are impossible, and not even malware with root privileges can find out the user’s real IP.

Whonix consists of two parts: One solely runs Tor and acts as a gateway, which we call Whonix-Gateway. The other, which we call Whonix-Workstation, is on a completely isolated network. Only connections through Tor are possible.

Kali Linux 2.0 Launched With New Interface Is Available To Download

Kali Linux 2.0 Launched With New Interface Is Available To Download

Kali Linux 2.0 is an open-source penetration testing platform brings hundreds of Penetration Testing, Forensics, Hacking and Reverse Engineering tools together into a Debian-based Linux distribution.

The biggest work in this version its new interface. Now we can access on the side of the screen dock. Kali Linux is Now a Rolling Distribution. One of the biggest moves we’ve taken to keep Kali 2.0 up-to-date in a global, continuous manner, is transforming Kali into a rolling distribution.

How Do I Upgrade to Kali 2.0?

Yes, you can upgrade Kali 1.x to Kali 2.0! To do this, you will need to edit your source.list entries, and run a dist-upgrade as shown below. If you have been using incorrect or extraneous Kali repositories or otherwise manually installed or overwritten Kali packages outside of apt, your upgrade to Kali 2.0 may fail. This includes scripts like lazykali.sh, PTF, manual git clones in incorrect directories, etc. – All of these will clobber existing files on the filesystem and result in a failed upgrade. If this is the case for you, you’re better off reinstalling your OS from scratch.

Otherwise, feel free to:

cat << EOF > /etc/apt/sources.list
deb http://http.kali.org/kali sana main non-free contrib
deb http://security.kali.org/kali-security/ sana/updates main contrib non-free
EOF

apt-get update
apt-get dist-upgrade # get a coffee, or 10.
reboot

Whats new in Kali Linux 2.0 Features:

  • Runs on Linux kernel 4.0,
  • use full Gnome 3 Desktop instead of gnome-fallback,
  • improved hardware and wireless driver coverage,
  • support for a variety of Desktop Environments,
  • updated desktop environment and tools,
  • Featuring new cutting-edge wireless penetration tools,
  • Kali Linux now added desktop notifications, so that you do not miss anything,
  • Support Ruby 2.0, which will make Metasploit will load much faster,
  • Kali 2.0 added inbuilt screencasting tool so that you can record desktop.

Windows 10 has been released this week, after released it gives free up gradation if you use Windows 7 or 8 as for 1 year until 29 July 2016. Microsoft said, more than 14 million installs in the first 24 hours after released Windows 10.

What are the Bugs which Windows 10 fixed ?

  • In this week Nvidia graphic drivers users got the problem by Windows 10 upgrading.
  • On Saturday had contained a bug that caused Windows' Control Panel to crash if you tried to uninstall an application.
  • Windows 10’s policy of automatic updates has run into its first major problem and it is causing many PCs to stop working correctly.

These issue was fixed soon after official release of Windows 10. But how can we sure that Windows 10 is secure yet. The new Windows 10 operating system software is still a work in progress in many ways, and more bugs may pop up before the initial rollout is completed.

Today, Mostly users are using Windows 7 even after Windows 8 launch. Because Windows 8 doesn't find friendly OS in Windows 8, however it was launched for better graphics, 3D looking icons but it was failed to keep place on users.

But if we talk about Windows 10 performance is faster , quicker as in the part of gaming performance and power management too.

Windows 10 is familiar and easy to use. The start menu is back and improved so you get quick access to your favorite things.

Microsoft introduces Cortana in Windows 10 which is truly personal digital assistant. And Edge, it is the modified version of the Internet Explorer.

Security:
Security is a gigantic issue for users and business, as the most well known desktop working framework, Windows is tragically the essential focus for malware, spyware and viruses.

Microsoft has fixed all bugs yet and try to make windows 10 its best version.

Nuclide: An Open IDE Experience for Hack development

Nuclide : An open IDE for web and native mobile development, built on top of Atom to Provide Hackability.

Nuclide is the first IDE with support for Hack, including autocomplete, jump-to-definition, inline errors, and an omni-search bar for your project. Nuclide has been built from the start to provide a great IDE experience for Hack development.

Project by Facebook!

A unified developer experience for web and mobile development, built as a suite of packages on top of Atom to provide hackability and the support of an active community.

Nuclide
Nuclide is a collection of packages for Atom to provide IDE-like functionality for a variety of programming languages and technologies.

Installation

To install a pre-built version of Nuclide, install the nuclide-installer package in Atom. This package will ensure that you have the full set of Nuclide packages.

If you have never installed an Atom package before, follow the package installation instructions from the Atom Flight Manual to do it through the Atom UI, or run the following from the command line:

apm install nuclide-installer

The first time you start Atom after installing the nuclide-installer package, you will have to wait a few seconds for the installer to determine which Nuclide packages it needs to install or update. To determine whether the installer worked, go to the Settings view in Atom and select the Packages tab. From there, filter your installed packages by nuclide- and verify you see the packages listed in the next section.

Features

Nuclide contains the following Atom packages:

  • nuclide-flow Adds support for Flow. If flow is on your $PATH, then opening .js files with the /* @flow */ pragma under a directory with a .flowconfig should expose information from Flow directly in Atom.
  • nuclide-hack Adds support for Hack by providing autocomplete and jump-to-definition functionality. Nuclide also includes a nuclide-language-hack package so that Hack files are syntax highlighted correctly.
  • nuclide-hg-repository Local changes to files in a Mercurial repository will be reflected in Atom's file tree and gutter UI as Atom does natively for Git repositories.
  • nuclide-remote-projects adds support for remote development. See the nuclide-server package for more information on setting up the server that nuclide-remote-projects will talk to so you can edit your foreign files in Nuclide. Note that this package is used in concert with nuclide-file-tree so that both local and remote files can be browsed from a familiar UI.
  • nuclide-quick-open provides an advanced file search UI with segmented search results.
  • Note that some Nuclide packages, such as nuclide-flow and nuclide-hack, work better when the linter package is installed. Note that linter is separate from Nuclide. (There is evidence that the linter package will eventually be bundled as part of Atom core.)

Repository Organization

Most developers choose to maintain individual Node and Atom packages in their own repositories. Because Nuclide is composed of so many packages, we chose to organize all of its code in a single repository rather than across a multitude of repositories. As such, this repository is organized as follows:

  • pkg/ Source code for Nuclide packages.
  • scripts/ Utilities for developing and deploying Nuclide packages.

Building from Source

If you want to experiment with modifications to Nuclide's code, we recommend that you build it from source. (Note that when you build from source, an inert instance of the nuclide-installer package will be installed, effectively disabling autoupdate for Nuclide packages. If you want to return to an ordinary installation of Nuclide, run apm install nuclide-installer and restart Atom to get it back.)

System Requirements

Python 2.6 or later.
Atom v0.209.0 or later.
node, npm, apm, and git must be on your $PATH. (Node must be v0.12.0 or later.)

Build and install Nuclide

Run the following command from the root of the repository:

./scripts/dev/setup

or if you are on Windows:

python scripts\dev\setup

If you see any errors, try running the setup script again with the --verbose flag to get more debugging information.

The setup script will fetch the appropriate dependencies from npm and perform any necessary build steps. When complete, you should see several nuclide- packages in your ~/.atom/packages directory. Starting Atom after running ./scripts/dev/setup for the first time may be a little slow because of the large number of Babel files that need to be transpiled. (The results of transpilation are cached for future use. You can see how many files were transpiled from Timecop.)

Some users have reported errors when re-running ./scripts/dev/setup. (You should run this script whenever you add or remove a package, or change the dependencies in a package.json file.) Although it should not be necessary, running git clean -xfd to clear out stale files has fixed the problem for a number of developers. (On Windows, sometimes git clean -xfd has to be run several times to successfully delete the junctions created by the setup script.) If all else fails, you may want to create a fresh clone of Nuclide and run the setup script again from there.

Honeypot Linux Distro HoneyDrive 3 Released

Honeydrive New Version 3 has been released. HoneyDrive is the premier honeypot Linux distro. It is a virtual appliance (OVA) with Xubuntu Desktop 12.04.4 LTS edition installed. It contains over 10 pre-installed and pre-configured honeypot software packages such as Kippo SSH honeypot, Dionaea and Amun malware honeypots, Honeyd low-interaction honeypot, Glastopf web honeypot and Wordpot, Conpot SCADA/ICS honeypot, Thug and PhoneyC honeyclients and more. Additionally it includes many useful pre-configured scripts and utilities to analyze, visualize and process the data it can capture, such as Kippo-Graph, Honeyd-Viz, DionaeaFR, an ELK stack and much more. Lastly, almost 90 well-known malware analysis, forensics and network monitoring related tools are also present in the distribution.

HoneyDrive 3 RELEASE NOTES:
1) HoneyDrive 3 has been created entirely from scratch. It is based on Xubuntu Desktop 12.04.4 LTS edition and it is distributed as a standalone OVA file that can be easily imported as a virtual machine using virtualization software such as VirtualBox and VMware.

2) All the honeypot programs from the previous version of HoneyDrive are included, while they have also been upgraded to their latest versions and converted almost entirely to cloned git repos for easier maintenance and updating. This latter fact on its own could be considered reason enough to release the new version.

3) Many new honeypot programs have been installed that really make HoneyDrive 3 “complete” in terms of honeypot technology, plus around 50(!) new security related tools in the fields of malware analysis, forensics and network monitoring.

4) The main honeypot software packages and BruteForce Lab’s projects reside in /honeydrive. The rest of the programs reside in /opt. The location of all software can be found inside the README.txt file on the desktop.

5) HoneyDrive 3 doesn’t make itself as known to the outside world as the previous version. There are no descriptive messages and apart from Kippo-Graph and Honeyd-Viz every other piece of software is not accessible from the outside (unless if you configure them otherwise, or even lock down Kippo-Graph and Honeyd-Viz as well).
